This work is composed by 99 silk-screen printed Semmeln and 1 golden silk-screen printed Semmel. The project is part of a research on national stereotypes based on the most common and used (or eaten) forms of representation. On what do I think, when I think of Austria? A Semmel, definitely. With its characteristic round form, it shows the connection between the cheap and the royal, it is everywhere, plus it makes for a good joke, as its pronunciation in German sounds like semen in Spanish, making the trip to the bakery very interesting.
